Bio-Control Solutions for Agriculture

biocon01

We offer a range of biological solutions for controlling rampant diseases commonly encountered in plantation crops such as banana, and pineapple. These solutions significantly increase the recovery of harvested crops in plantations previously inflicted with disesases. The solutions are also complementary to existing treatment protocols and can be applied together with chemical solutions.

Our solutions are effective against the following diseases:

  • Root Rot such as pineapple phytophthora
  • Heart Rot such as pinapple erwinia
  • Basal Stem Rot such as banana moko and palm oil ganoderma
  • Leaf Spot Blight such as banana sigatoka
  • Bacterial/Fungal Wilt such as banana bugtok, strawberry and curcifer fusarium
  • Nematodes inflicting potato and strawberries

Solutions for Bioremediation

IMO Labs offer a range of innovative biological products for the biodegradation of toxic hydrocarbon and chemcial wastes. With tightening environmental regulations, these products offer a cost-effective and viable way of resolving the persistent and potential costly problems associated with compliance to the regulations.

The range of bioremediation products include:

  • Methanomix. Methanogenic microbial inoculants for anaerobic digestion of starch-based, plantation and animal wastes to produce bio-gas and alcohols.
  • Degremix. Microbial consortia for degradation of oily and processed sludge with diesels, gasoline and light oils as byproducts.
  • Phenomix. Customised microbial consortia for degradation of toxic chemicals such as adrox, phenolic compounds and paints.

HUMIC for Waste Water Treatment

humic

HUMIC is a series of industrial-grade microbial products for waste water treatment and maintenance. Applications of the HUMIC series of products include:

  • Treatment and maintenance of waste water facilities characterized by very high amount of organic load and fast flow rates. Typical examples of facilities include sewerage treatment plants and open-pit lagoons found in plantations as well as swine/livestock/poultry farms.
  • Treatment and maintenance of industrial waster water such as paper mills and food processing plants.

HUMIC has been adapted to treat waste water from a variety of industries including oil palm mills, paper mills, textile dyeing factories, whisky distilleries, food processing plants, piggeries, poultry farms and many others.

Agricultural Farming Systems

Organic Vegetable Farming (OVF)
OVF is a biological farming system for the intensive production of legumes, fruity and leafy vegetables, using locally available raw materials for the production of crop-specific enhanced bioorganic fertilizers. OVF results in increased productivity through healthier plants, faster maturing time, longer harvest periods and higher yields. OVF is particularly suitable for re-conditioning of depleted soil or transforming wasteland into fertile organic vegetable farms.

CROPSYS Program for Plantation Crops
CROPSYS is a series of biological systems and fertilization programs for improving the yields of plantation crops such as rice, pineapples and bananas. Higher quality produce and superior yields are achieved using hybrid fertilization program combining the use of chemical, bio-organic fertilizers, liquid bio-organic fertilizers as well as recycling of locally available plantation waste. CROPSYS is particularly suitable for rehabilitating plantations depleted by prolonged use of chemical inputs.

Integrated Biosystems
These are made of interrelated bio-systems whereby the waste from one bio-system is used as a resource in another biosystem. Integrated Biosystems provide improved working models for ecologically sustainable development of primary industries.

Biological Sustainable Enhanced Aquaculture System (BioSEA)

biosea

The Biological Sustainable Enhanced Aquaculture (BIOSEA) system is a biological aqua-farming system which has the following characteristics:

  • Intensive aqua-farming using earthen ponds without need for expensive engineering infrastructure
  • Closed water re-circulating system with stringent bio-security measures
  • Treatment using entirely biological inoculants without use of chemicals; water and soil environment in growout ponds are maintained and sustained using combined algal-microbial interactions; removal of organic, inorganic and heavy metal pollutants through biological means
  • Increased growth and resistance to disease through addition of biological feed enhancers to commercial feeds
  • Production of premium-quality low-residue seafood

BIOSEA is particularly suitable for rehabilitating abandoned or sick farms. BIOSEA has been tested exhaustively since 1998 and is currently implemented in commercial inland aqua-farms for fish and prawn farming in the Philippines and Malaysia.
